This role’s primary responsibility will be develop, implement, and coordinate food safety and quality programs at strategic co-manufacturing partners. This individual will collaborate closely with Co-Manufacturers, Co-Packers, Regulatory, Research and Development, Procurement and Supply Chain functions to implement programs and protocols that improve quality and food safety.
As our Co-Manufacturing Quality Manager, you’ll make an impact by:
- Developing and enhancing a comprehensive, proactive, and effective co-manufacturing quality management program
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring all aspects of the food safety and quality assurance supplier management program to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, product specifications,
- Partnering with Research and Development, Procurement, and Co-Manufacturers to ensure Compana vendor approval program is maintained to meet all government and regulatory standards.
- Leading investigations and spearheading resolution of product food safety and quality issues stemming from customer complaints related to external manufactured products or through internal reporting
- Ensuring quality assurance monitoring activities and third-party certification programs are effectively executed and properly documented by suppliers
- Building strong, collaborative working relationships with key Co-Manufacturers and visit their facilities regularly.
- Planning and directing quality continuous improvement projects with key external partners.
- Effectively communicate in English, in both verbal and written forms
- Bachelor’s degree preferred: science based (food science, nutrition, microbiology, or similar).
- 5 - 7 years of work-related experience in food and/or quality industry experience.
- Knowledge of food safety, federal, state, local, etc. regulations and requirements preferred.
- Experience in auditing food manufacturing facilities.
- HACCP certification, in-depth knowledge of Global Food Safety Certification and/or ISO standards.
