Hours: M-F 8 am - 5 pm, with flexibility to meet during 2nd shift on occasion

We are actively seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist to join our growing organization and help us Nurture What You Love!

This role’s primary responsibility will be to plan, direct, implement and monitor a comprehensive safety program that ensures a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment in an effort to build a culture centered on safety. This position also provides leadership in the investigation of accidents and injuries and the preparation of material for use in both internal and external investigations.

As our EHS Specialist, you’ll make an impact by:
  • Owning and administering site safety programs for the Omaha facility, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with OSHA standards.
  • Maintaining and continually updating all safety policies, procedures, and required documentation, including OSHA logs and incident reporting.
  • Coordinating, delivering, and tracking all required safety training, including new‑hire orientation, LOTO, refresher training, and ongoing safety topics.
  • Leading and facilitating the site safety committee, ensuring effective participation and follow‑through on action items.
  • Investigating accidents, near misses, and employee safety suggestions; support case management and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conducting regular safety inspections, audits, and pre‑operational checks to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Monitoring facility utility consumption and supporting implementation of data‑driven improvements to reduce usage and improve environmental performance.
  • Partnering with operations teams to evaluate equipment safety, ergonomics, and human–machine interactions, recommending improvements as needed.
  • Coordinating cross‑functional safety and food‑safety monitoring activities and ensure alignment with safe and sanitary operating procedures.
  • Supporting employee engagement in safety initiatives by coordinating departmental safety efforts, communications, and ongoing education.
What you need to succeed:
  • Effectively communicate in English, in both verbal and written forms
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of safety experience
  • Experience and understanding of CFR 1910 OSHA standards
  • 3-5 years of Food safety/cGMP experience in a manufacturing or packaging setting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles preferred
  • OSHA 1910 standard knowledge and application preferred
